Friendly URL

A Friendly URL is a much shorter, easier URL for your Supporter’s (or you) to use when accessing the site. It does not supplant the original URL, but it does create an alternate way of accessing the site that can be distributed via email, printed materials, or word of mouth.

Note: You must have the User Permission to Manage Project Website in order to add these Settings.
Note: At this time, all Friendly URL's must have as a part of the URL. Other custom vanity URL's must be done outside of Greater Giving Online.

  1. From the Project Home, click Manage Project Website under the Project Website header.
  2. Click Edit Page Settings for the Page you wish to add a Friendly URL to.
  3. Scroll down and check the box for Add a Friendly URL.Friendly_URL.jpg
    • URL – Select this option to customize the URL after your domain name (the portion).
      • Alpha and numeric characters are allowed, most special characters are not.
    • Portal – Sets the page to your domain home. You may only have one (1) page set to this domain home at a time.
  4. Click Save to finalize your Friendly URL.

Tips & Reminders:

  • You can have multiple Friendly URL’s per page, but you cannot have the same Friendly URL on two different Pages.
  • A Friendly URL still requires the page to be visible. See Page Visibility for more information.
