Pre-Bidding with Online Bidding

If you would like to open bidding ahead of time for your Online Bidding Event, there are a few important pieces of information and methods for getting your bidders enabled. Below, we cover the two main methods of giving your bidder’s access to your site.

Methods of Pre-Bidding

Self-Registration

Supporters must sign up for the bidding site using a username & password, Organization cannot activate users.

Mass Enable Supporters

Supporters are activated for Online Bidding by the Organization, gaining access immediately.
(Recommended)

Uses:

  • Online Only Auctions.
  • Non-attending Bidders.

Uses:

  • Attending Bidders bidding prior to Event.
  • Online Bidding with Live Event.

Pros:

  • Requires credit card before bids can be placed.
  • Imports Bidder information, updating what you have on file.
  • Excellent for non-attending bidders or Online Auctions.

Pros:

  • Give Supporter’s access immediately.
  • Quick, simple, and effective.
  • Able to communicate with guests right after activating.
  • Cleaner Check-In experience night of event.
  • Households can bid together.

Cons:

  • Members of household bid separately (or share account).
  • Requires username & password to login, not a simple link (not ideal for at the Event).
  • Requires the Supporter to go through a process before bidding. Not immediate.

Cons:

  • No credit card required to bid (must be saved before or gathered at Check-In).
  • Cannot customize message inviting to Online Bidding.
